Data We Collect (Stored Locally on Your Device)

All of the following data is stored locally on your device only:

  • AI chat conversations with your personal fitness assistant

All of this data is stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to external servers.

  • We do NOT use analytics or tracking tools

Permissions Used

Camera Permission

Why we need it:

To scan food barcodes for quick nutrition entry

What we do with it:

The camera is used only when you actively choose to scan a barcode. Images are processed locally on your device to read the barcode and are not saved or transmitted anywhere.

Internet Permission

Why we need it:

To download the on-device AI model (one-time, optional)

What we do with it:

Internet access is used solely for downloading the AI language model from HuggingFace when you first set up the AI assistant. This is optional - you can use the app without the AI features. Once downloaded, the AI runs completely offline on your device.

On-Device AI Processing

FitGenius AI uses an on-device artificial intelligence model to provide personalized fitness and nutrition guidance. This means:

  • The AI model runs entirely on your device
  • Your conversations with the AI assistant are processed locally
  • No data from your AI conversations is sent to external servers
  • The AI model file is downloaded once from HuggingFace and cached on your device
  • After the initial download, no internet connection is required for AI features

Third-Party Services

HuggingFace Model Repository

We download the AI model from HuggingFace (huggingface.co) when you first enable AI features. This is a one-time download. HuggingFace may collect standard web request information (IP address, user agent) during the model download. Please refer to HuggingFace's Privacy Policy for more information.

Barcode Scanning

When you scan food barcodes, no data is sent to external servers. Barcode scanning happens entirely on your device.

Data Storage and Security

  • All your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage
  • Data persists on your device until you uninstall the app or manually delete it
  • We do not have backdoor access to your data
  • Standard device-level security protections apply

Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • All data can be deleted by uninstalling the app
  • Individual entries can be deleted from within the app
  • No data remains on external servers (because none is collected)

Children's Privacy

FitGenius AI is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • You have complete control over your data
  • You can export or delete your data at any time
  • You can use the app without any internet connection (after initial AI model download, if desired)

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
